WHY PLAINTEXT
What makes these sessions different.
Literacy, not advice
Every session stays in the territory of reading and vocabulary. We help you understand what documents say — not what you should do about them.
Paced, unhurried sessions
Sessions are designed around comprehension at a measured pace — no pressure to absorb everything at once. Reading is a habit, not a sprint.
Open group discussion
Small groups allow questions and conversation. Participants often find they understand unfamiliar terminology more easily after hearing others work through the same passages.
Curated reading materials
Selected texts are drawn from publicly available reports, frameworks, and glossaries. Nothing proprietary — everything you can return to and re-read on your own.
Kuala Lumpur context
Examples are drawn from the Malaysian and Southeast Asian sustainability-reporting landscape where relevant, keeping vocabulary grounded in a familiar regional context.
No jargon barriers
Sustainability-finance vocabulary is full of acronyms and borrowed terms. We slow down at those points rather than glossing over them — the point is understanding, not coverage.

COMMON QUESTIONS
What people usually ask first.
Do I need a finance background to attend?
No prior knowledge is expected. These sessions are explicitly designed for readers who encounter sustainability-finance vocabulary and want to understand what they are reading more clearly. The starting point is always the text, not assumed familiarity.
Will these sessions tell me what to invest in?
No. Plaintext programmes are strictly educational and focus on literacy — reading and understanding documents. We do not provide commentary on whether to acquire, hold, or dispose of any instrument, fund, or strategy. Participants who are considering financial decisions should consult a licensed adviser.
Where do the sessions take place?
Sessions are held at our Bangsar space at Jalan Telawi Lima 24, 59100 Kuala Lumpur. The venue is accessible by LRT (Bangsar station) and has nearby parking. Directions are shared in the booking confirmation.
How large are the reading groups?
Reading groups are kept small — typically between six and twelve participants — to allow for unhurried discussion. The Vocabulary Workshop can accommodate slightly more. Exact numbers are confirmed at booking.
What materials are provided?
All reading materials are provided at no additional cost. For the Annual Reading Track, participants also receive a printed companion. Materials are drawn exclusively from publicly available sources and are yours to keep.
Can organisations enrol multiple staff members?
Yes. Organisations interested in placing several staff members in the same cohort are welcome to reach out before registering individually. Group arrangements can often be accommodated with a single point of contact for enrolment.
